Activities

The area around the Helford river is designated as an 'area of outstanding natural beauty' and has many attractions to offer the visitor. For non-beach activities there are two hard tennis courts a short distance away at Manaccan and golf may be played at Mullion and Helston. The famous gardens of Cornwall are always rewarding to visit. Particularly beautiful from March to July are those nearby at Bosahan,Trebah and Glendurgan.

The coastal footpath is right outside our garden, which will lead you in each direction to the hidden coves and creeks of this very special area. 'Sailaway' at St Anthony will hire motor-boats, sailing dinghys and canoes and provides lessons too. You can even bring your own boat to enjoy the sandy bays and visit 'FrenchmansCreek' and our riverside pubs!

Cornwall is rightly famous for its local food, so why not visit some of the award winning restaurants nearby.

Good shopping and cinemas can be found in Truro and Helston. Falmouth makes a particularly interesting day out with its world famous harbour and yachts on view and the National Maritime Museum will keep even our youngest visitors amused.

Cornwall is a garden's paradise, and a very special time is the Cornish garden festival held every spring, and May when the hedgerows are spectacular. A must visit for anyone interested in horticulture are the Lost gardens of Heligan and don't forget the Eden Project, located near St. Austell
